Job Description

 • Produce the UK’s 5 year plan, annual budget & monthly forecasts

• Partner with business heads to produce regional and functional forecasts and budgets

• Analyse monthly results, prepare variance analyses and highlight trends, risks and opportunities, and financial issues to the UK Management Team

• Develop a deep understanding of the UK’s key internal and external operating, financial and value drivers that impact performance

• Provide financial support to the Sales, Service and Rental Teams to drive business performance

• Create new customer and product profitability reports and analyses in conjunction with the business

• Develop and maintain robust driver based financial models (P&L, balance sheet and cash flows)

• Develop key financial and operational performance indicators

• Drive budget responsibility across the business

• Ensure the UK keeps within cost centre targets

• Identify and analyse potential costs savings, prepare business cases to change processes and drive delivery

• Prepare the UK’s capital forecasts and budgets and ensure the UK stays within targets

• Ensure monthly costs are coded to correct budget areas (accounts, branches and departments) and work with the Finance Team to continually improve end to end financial processes and systems

• Produce the UK’s financial presentations

• Ad hoc & projects

Person Specification

 

 

Experience

  • Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with 5 years or more experience

 

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to mine complex, diverse data
  • Advanced forecasting and financial modelling experience
  • Proven people management and influencing skills
  • Highly articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Highly driven and self-motivated
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills,
  • Willing to travel (Birmingham, Warrington, Glasgow)
